To get rid of him, Force Quit Safari (-> force quit-> Safari), then restart Safari in Mode safe mode by pressing the SHIFT key. Looks like you are describing a browser hijacker.
You have no adware/malware, not based on the screenshots. Can someone tell me how to get rid of this annoying adware? Thank you. I read advice to someone else's post and takes screenshots of launch of files in the finder, but don't know where to go from here.
I loaded the Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and but still get a popup in the upper right warning me that I have a virus and you should download the cleaner. I was getting popups asking me to install Mac cleaner Adware and other software. I think I accidentally downloaded adware.
